The Sparrows That Inhabit My Memory
AUDIOWALK is a performance in the form of a sound walk that turns the city into a stage under the open sky. Through QR codes placed around the urban space, the audience moves through streets, buildings and sites of memory while listening to a sound piece that weaves together history, biography, architecture and fiction, offering audiences a singular way of inhabiting, listening to and imagining the city.
Each creation is born from research into the official and subjective memory of a territory. Testimonies, archives, soundscapes and fictional narratives intertwine in a dramaturgy that contaminates the real with fiction, rewriting the meanings of places and revealing stories, people and geographies that are often made invisible.
More than a route, AUDIOWALK proposes a listening experience. As they walk through the city, audiences are invited to discover new layers of reading the urban space, where material heritage engages in dialogue with individual and collective memories, turning the city into a living archive and a landscape in permanent reinvention. Each project is developed specifically for the territory where it takes place. The creative process includes documentary research, the gathering of testimonies, the mapping of routes, the recording of soundscapes, and the participation of the local community, whose memory and voice come to form part of the performance’s dramaturgy.
